A Few Things I've Learned About Pregnancy (So Far)

There are some things I've learned over the last 15 weeks in regards to pregnancy.  Some good and some bad, but either way, I still love being pregnant!

1. You will get a TON of advice - much of which is unsolicited.  For example, when you pick up a light frame and place it back on the wall it fell off of, you'll be told that you shouldn't stretch.  Really??? Because I'm pretty sure they have prenatal yoga and yoga is stretching!

2. Your hair will grow.  Good thing, right? Well yes, except it's not just growing in length.  New hair will actually grow and you will have fly away, baby hairs.  No big deal, unless you're putting your hair in a ponytail and have all kinds of fly aways! PTL for hairspray!

3. Cravings are inevitable.  And they are like you see on TV or in the movies.  When the craving appears, you baby has to have it now!  Mike is rather lucky to be so busy at work or he'd be busy running around to satisfy cravings.

4. And you may cry over said cravings. Pizza bagels caused the water works for me. All I baby wanted was sausage, cheese, pepperoni pizza bagels. The ones I got = spoiled, blackened, disgusting.  Go to a new store for more  = only cheese and pepperoni ones.  Call sister in the middle of the frozen food aisle of Dominicks (while she has no voice!) and vent about this awful situation. Get home and Mike asks why I don't have pizza bagels = burst into tears.  Luckily for me, Friday's sizzling chicken and cheese quickly dried those tears.

5. What you think may creep you out prior to pregnancy becomes completely fascinating during pregnancy.  For example, the idea of the baby moving and me feeling it absolutely, 100% freaked me out before becoming pregnant.  I couldn't believe that something would be growing and moving inside me.  A little too alien-esque for my liking.  Now, here I am 15 weeks pregnant, and I cannot wait to feel our little baby move!  I'm completely anxious for the first feel and cannot wait for all the movements to follow and for Mike to feel it!

Regardless of the good and bad, pregnancy is an amazing thing to go through.  I feel so lucky to be able to have gotten pregnant and to have had an "easy" pregnancy so far.  I cannot wait for all the exciting changes to come in the next 25 weeks and of course to meet our little one!
